How Tibetan Bells Can Help Your Spiritual Practice
Excerpt from The Intuitive’s Workbook.
Tibetan bells and bowls can be used to clear energy in an area and help protect that energy from turning into a negative stew. You take a wooden hammer made for the bell, running it around the edges to vibrate the interior of the bell. As the vibration rises, it clears out any negative vibrations that may be around you. The vibration is of a higher energy akin to the energy you’ll feel when you do the meditative work throughout my Intuitive’s Workbook.
Bowls work the same way. They are metallic bowls with a hammer. You run the hammer around the bowl and the vibration raises.
These tools have been used in Tibetan practices for ages. They’ve made their way into our modern world, popularized by the New Age movements. However, they aren’t some fake snake oil sales tool. They create energy. Large amounts of vibrating energy.
When you run the hammer around the bell, you’ll find a harmonic vibration that slowly grows in intensity. The hammer, as long as you keep it steady and increase the speed and strength, adds more energy, amplifying the vibration. You’ll feel the bell’s vibrations course through your body.
It’s a practice of sound and physical vibrations. A way of disturbing the air. This is something you feel and hear. Anyone who uses the bell and bowl properly will feel the physical effects almost immediately.
These translate into spiritual effects, too, cleansing the area and making it more applicable to a spiritual practice.
You don’t have to have a bell to listen to Tibetan bells and bowls. Although, if you do have a bell or bowl, or can purchase one, I do believe they are more effective than something run through your speaker system, especially if the speakers are not high quality. The physical energy created by the bells is much more powerful than something created digitally.
That said, either or is a fine start to a productive practice. The goal is always to stay protected and focused, using your intention and will to drive the strength of energies around you. Tools help us focus that energy and provide an extra amplification, extra layers of support.
Give it a try sometime. Go to your neighborhood spiritual store, most will have Tibetan bells available. Ask if they’ll show you how to properly use one. They look easy to use, but it will take several tries before you can keep the hammer from skipping while maintaining the bell’s amplification.
