Meeting the Ancestors
An excerpt from Unleash Your Spirit, book 7 of The Awakening Series.
Start with the relaxation meditation.
When you are completely relaxed, allow the world to come to life. Feel the warm sun. Touch the grasses. Allow the wind to blow through your fingers.
Stand in the meadow.
In the distance, you’ll see a path. Go to the path. Follow it through the meadow, over the hills. The path will wind through the hills. As you come to the bottom of a hill, you’ll hear a creek gently flowing.
Follow the path along the creek to a giant oak tree. Look at the mighty tree raising its branches into the sky. This tree is bigger than others you’ve seen.
As you approach, you see the roots near the base of the tree shift to the side. They begin to open. A dark tunnel appears at the base.
You can walk into the tunnel.
In the distance, you see an orange light. You feel the beating of music. Walk down the tunnel in the darkness. The light grows brighter, bigger, and the music becomes louder.
You hear ancient drum beats. The light is the reflection of a fire on the walls. Shadows dance on the walls.
As you come to the light, you walk into the entrance of an enormous cavern. There is an enormous bonfire in the center of the cavern. People from all ages of time dance around in harmony, singing, laughing, enjoying themselves by the fire. They play music. The drum beats vibrate the cavern floor.
You see someone sitting on a stone bench. They wave and call you over.
Walk to them.
This will be an ancestor. These individuals will be ancestors from your lineage, but this will be an ancestor who wishes to speak with you.
Sit on the bench beside them.
What do they look like? What do they sound like?
Talk with them. Ask them who they are. Ask them what they wish to tell you. Have a conversation.
When they are done speaking with you, they will tell you to leave. You may intuitively feel it is time to go. Thank them for speaking with you. Walk back towards the tunnel.
Head into the tunnel.
In the distance, the roots of the tree will open to show the world on the other side. Walk the length of the tunnel to that opening. Return to the world of the oak tree, creek, and meadow.
When you return, the roots will close to hide the tunnel. Walk down the path, over the hills, and across the meadow. Find the spot where you were laying in the grass where the leaves are gently pressed against the ground.
Lay back down.
Close your eyes to this world. Allow your mind to return to the physical world. Wiggle your toes and fingers. Gently return when you are able.
After you wake, journal everything about the experience so you can remember the teaching of your ancestors for later. You may only remember a word or a phrase. Journal everything, even their likeness. It will help you connect in the future.
Practice it as often as you feel the need to connect with your ancestors. Practice makes perfect. The more you do this, the more connected your spirit will become. You’ll recognize their energies in the physical world and hear their voices around you when you need their help.
